Much of the American population is maturing, and they are looking to grow older in their own homes. Universal design meets the needs of people who want to remodel their homes, as their physical needs and abilities change with time, and to accommodate medical equipment. The goal is to find ways to help clients do everyday tasks like reach the cabinets, move about the bathroom, and fill pots in the kitchen without sacrificing their home safety, or quality of life.
