To give your home a little something extra, consider the vast expanse of space above your head. The ceiling is full of decorating or remodeling potential. Try faux finishes to give the impression of dramatic, rich metals or even a stained glass effect above. Paint the ceiling for a surprising pop of color. Give your space rustic appeal by adding a few beams overhead. You may even want to completely reframe the ceiling for a bit of architectural detail. Finally, don’t forget lighting as a sparkling element meant to highlight the space above, as well as the spaces below. Rope lighting and lovely fixtures can illuminate molding and beams wonderfully.
