Catalina Research, which does studies for the Floor Cover Institute as well as the National Wood Flooring Association, has reported that hardwood flooring has increased among the floor coverings category of home remodeling in the last year. Bruce Sprenger, who owns the home building firm Destiny Homes, has reported that premium residential clients have been choosing hardwood flooring more often for the past three years in a row, with a 15.8% gain in 2010, 4.4% in 2011, and 4.3% in 2012. Hardwood flooring is said to help a house to hold its value better and sell homes faster.
