When deciding to invest in a new home there is, of course, the allure of building your own — it’s customized for you. Don’t, however, overlook the upside of buying an already established home. In most cities, all the new developments are on the outskirts of town. If being close to things like stores and restaurants is important, then buying a pre-existing home could be your only option. Landscaping in a new lot is a blank slate, and it will take a considerable amount of work to get it the way you want. While on the other hand, older lots already have established trees, grass, flowers, and paths — plus they may be larger.
