A recent study entitled, “Selling into The Sun,” finds that even though it is difficult to appraise exactly what the value is, home buyers are willing to spend more for a home with solar panels. On average, buyers will pay $15,000 for an average-sized solar system. Similar studies have found that each kilowatt adds $6,000 to the value of the home. It has been a challenge to the appraisers to quantify the value of solar panels and other green additions. It is hoped that this new and in depth study will help with this problem.
