A recent survey shows a vast difference in opinion about the smart grid between younger people and the older generation. Apparently, the younger crowd believes that saving energy is more important, whereas older people say that saving money and efficiency are more important. The survey shows that while the senior citizens value saving money, they are less likely to have an interest in, or participate in, the smart grid. However, half the senior citizens said they would use the critical peak rebate programs. Unfortunately, according to an analysis done by Durand, senior citizens do have some problems knowing where to get trustworthy information about the smart grid.
