Restore an Aging Deck

With a little time, elbow grease, and the family of Rust-Oleum Restore products, reviving your old deck is easily achieved. With less than a day’s work, your posts, railings, and deck boards can be refreshed and ready to stand up to the weather again. Follow these basic steps:

Prep the surface with deck cleaner and a stiff broom. If you power wash, wait a week before proceeding.

Lay drop cloths and stain vertical surfaces.

       Tape off posts.

Apply deck-restoring product with appropriate rollers, in one direction.

Roll two boards at a time until complete. Remove tape while product is wet.

       Let first coat dry. Repeat.

Keep animals away until completely dry.
