Tiny-home Movement Expands

The “tiny house” trend is no tiny movement. The square footage may be as little as 200 square feet to just under 600 square feet, with the sparest amenities. More Americans homebuyers are embracing the less is more approach, having felt the weight of too much house and crippling mortgages in a post-recession economy and housing market. Small homes with minimal financing seem to be a viable option for many. Moving beyond monster square-foot suburban dwellings is the wiser option for some who want or need to live simply. Though tiny home advocates have to face some permit and code enforcement challenges, they are pleased with the no frills, well-appointed approach to lifestyle and homeownership.
