The New Hotel Jerome: An Aspen Icon, Redesigned

The Hotel Jerome first opened in Aspen, Colorado in 1889. It was one of the first buildings west of the Mississippi to be fully lit by electricity and featured tap water that could be either cold or hot. Its rooms rented for $3-4 a night and it drew in artists and aristocrats from across the globe. Over the years since its opening, the hotel has continued to host celebrities and politicians until its doors closed in August of 2012 for renovations. The renovations, which intended to preserve the hotel’s historic authenticity while also incorporating more modern luxuries has been completed and the hotel has opened its doors to showcase the blend of present and past.
