Not all homes are suited for solar panels because of their orientation to the sun, shade, and other obstacles. The website tool uses automated rooftop scanning technology and publicly available images from Google Earth to identify regions, cities, towns, neighborhoods and even individual homes that could make the best use of solar panels.
