An architecture foundation will be featuring the strength of women in development by showing their outstanding work in a new way. The Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation is honoring the work projects through the “Built by Women New York City” program. Also called BxW NYC, the program accepted applications from Aug. 1 until Oct. 31, and received more than 350 nominations for unique sites in the city, a spokesperson says. A jury of industry leaders will recognize 100 New York City structures that were designed by women, including work in architecture, engineering and landscaping. The program is being funded through grants from the New York Building Foundation and the New York Council for the Humanities.
