Faith, Greens and Green Buildings Topics at Earthkeeping Summit

David Orr, the Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics at Oberlin College, also directs the Oberlin Project — a cooperative sustainability effort between the school and the city, sponsored by the Clinton Climate Initiative Global Project. Orr and 250 Oberlin students designed the Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies, an all-electric photovoltaic building producing zero emissions, featuring a self-contained waste and water purification system. He said his students wanted a structure that would not do any damage to the forests. They wanted to know where the carpets would come from, and to make certain that the total project would not violate human dignity in any way.
