White appears to be the color of the year, when analyzing design trends; not necessarily straight white, but any shade of off-white you can imagine. Entire homes are painted in shell whites and antique whites, with walls, woodwork and ceilings all the same. Any additional color seems used only as an accent, predominantly in multiple shades of taupe, or bright pops of jewel tones. Our desire for open-concept living has become more open, with great-room designs all flowing together as the new norm, along with the return of more square footage. Chrome accents and fixtures are also trendy. Lights, faucets, and virtually all home accessories are now done in chrome.
