As the economy recovers, homebuilders are seeing renewed interest from potential buyers. Those in the market for new construction are looking for personalized, green, spacious housing with options regarding low-maintenance landscaping. Personalized features that are a selling point for today’s, typically younger, buyer include technological features, homework stations, and life-style/neighborhood amenities that existing homes can’t offer. These buyers are generally drawn in by first-class websites and information, as print media is no longer effective. Builders note too, that while buyers are excited to be able to buy again, they have to temper their desires with the reality that interest rates are on the rise, and incomes are not generally increasing quickly.
