Home Remodeling Expected to See Growth in 2014

When it comes to construction, it looks like home remodeling is no longer a dream deferred. Homeowners are more confident about their ability to see renovations through to a satisfying end. Those in the remodeling business are more than happy to get to back to work meeting their needs. The Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University predicts “double-digit gains in home remodeling spending through the first half of the year, although rising borrowing costs are expected to temper that growth later in 2014.” The National Association of Home Builders’ index measuring remodeling activity reported that remodeling is at its highest point in a decade due to low interest rates and home equity increases.
