When remodeling your home, look for ways to improve the air quality as well as aesthetics and functionality. Be sure to choose products that will not increase the level of breathable Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in your home. On the walls surrounding you, choose primers and paints that are VOC-free and currently available on the market. In the bathroom, consider a shower surround that contributes to better indoor air quality, uses lightweight, durable materials, includes green certification, and does not emit chemicals into the air. Finally, be careful when remodeling the kitchen. Choose a cabinet manufacture that does not use VOC producing, plastic-based materials, paint, or varnish.
