Homeowners Make 2013 the Year of the Remodeler

The data is in and it looks good for home remodelers. Improvement spending is at the highest its been in about five years with 2013 on track to being the best year for home remodeling since 2005, with 182 markets in the Residential Remodeling Index surpassing previous peaks and 364 other markets expecting growth. Not only that, spending for residential improvement construction raised 18% in May compared to the previous year, and the Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA) data provided by the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University predicts spending on remodeling projects will continue to rise through the end of 2014.
