Homes of the future will feature green innovations that will be even more energy efficient than our current homes. Taking a look at the top innovations, we see that homes in the future will be self-reliant and will store the energy needed to power them. Appliances will use so much less energy that they’ll make today’s green appliances look like energy guzzlers. Inovations in insulation, like cavity wall insulation, will insure our homes use far less energy than now. Heat pumps, which use the earth’s temperature to heat water underground, will be more affordable. Biomorphic Skins that react to temperature and light, changing according to the needs of the home, may soon become reality.
